Essential qualifications will vary depending on the role applied for, however all roles require the following:

  • Hold and maintain a minimum NV1 Security Clearance
  • Experience working within the Defence environment or possess the personal traits enabling the ability to adapt to the environment
  • Sound knowledge of the Defence Capability Lifecycle policies and processes is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to adapt to assigned tasks within various areas of Defence or Whole of Government Organisations


  • Proven ability to show initiative in work activities and complete tasks to a high standard to achieve required client satisfaction and outcomes
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and emerging or unforeseen client requirements

Program Management

  • Tertiary Level or equivalent qualification(s) in Program/Project Management methodologies
  • Experience working as a Program or Project Manager within Defence or Whole of Government Organisations
  • Sound understanding of Program and Project scope definition, development, and documentation
  • Demonstrated experience writing Program/Project documentation
  • Understanding of Defence security accreditation and certification policies and processes

Engineering and Technical

  • Tertiary level qualifications or equivalent qualifications in Engineering (Systems, Communications, Electrical, Mechanical) or Information Communications Technology (Network, Software Engineering, or technical certification)
  • Technical understanding of communications and networks concepts, architectures, design and deployment or the ability to obtain this knowledge

Material Logistics

  • Tertiary Level or equivalent qualification in Integrated Logistics Support and methodologies
  • Understanding of supply chain management (Single Service and Joint Logistics requirements, policies, and processes)
  • Understanding of Defence Logistics Management and codification policies and processes
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Defence Logistics Management tools e.g. MILIS


  • Tertiary Level or equivalent qualification in Business or a related field
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely to achieve organisational outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in Business Analysis and technical writing skills including organisational and technical trade studies, risk assessments, organisational structures, and benefit analysis
