DUTY PROFILE
Omni Executive’s Engineering Consultants provide embedded, specialised, knowledge-based services to the Australian Government and industry clients of the Consulting Division. Our Engineers are provided to our clients on a contractual basis and are responsible for the full execution of the Statement of Work agreed within that contract. While responsible to the client for the quality and the extent of the contracted work, within Omni, our Engineers report to both the General Manager Consulting and their allocated Managing Consultant.

Omni is looking to identify a small team of suitable Engineers (Aeronautical / Mechanical) to support Omni’s client, who requires Engineering Support Services based out of Richmond (NSW) to certify load configurations for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. The required services will include:

  • Development of designs that are compliant with regulations, standards and Client Quality and Design Assurance System.
  • Conducting engineering analysis including structural integrity, structural joints, restraint, shock, and vibration.
  • Conducting V&V activities including participation in and development of artefacts for aerial delivery trial activities.
  • Providing advice on aerial delivery requirements.
  • Conducting task planning and updates.
  • Conducting review of technical artefacts; and
  • Contributing to ongoing continuous training and system improvements.

QUALFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

Essential Qualifications and Skills 

  • Mechanical and/or Aeronautical Engineering Degree (Undergraduate and/or Post Graduate)
  • 1-5 years of theoretical and/or practical application of aeronautical and mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Prior experience with Civilian and Commonwealth airworthiness and/or aviation safety systems and processes.
  • Experience in structural design and analysis using analytical and FEA methodology
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a Commonwealth security clearance

The experience levels and qualifications listed above are not mandatory, rather they reflect experience with a foundation body of knowledge that can be applied (and reinforced with future professional development and on the job training) to support mechanical/aeronautical engineering activities required by Omni’s client.

Omni in conjunction with our Client will provide 3 months of structured training on applicable engineering and airworthiness requirements (scheduled for early February 2022), followed by 6-9 months of mentoring and on the job training for those requiring additional supervision.

It is intended that suitable candidates would commence their support of Omni’s client mid to late January 2022, and would continue to provide support to Omni’s client over an extended period of time. Options to work remotely at the conclusion of the initial 12 months of employment would be considered by Omni and its Client, noting that there may be a requirement to travel on an as required basis to support Client related certification activities.
