The Opportunity

The Payroll Officer provides administrative and financial support to the HR and Finance units within the Corporate Operations team.  The position is responsible for Omni Executive’s payroll system, MicrOpay. You will perform the monthly payroll, including superannuation, taxation reporting and financial accounting activities as directed. The individual will have experience in payroll with a focus on the National Employment Standards (NES) requirements and understand financial controls and accounting.

Corporate employees have a key responsibility to support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the General Managers and Omni employees, to create a professional and productive working environment that is extended to our clients, customers and stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

The role will include:

  • Provide support as required by Corporate Operations Manager, HR Manager and Finance Manager
  • Update and maintain Employee and Company information within the payroll system
  • Prepare and maintain the monthly payroll for Omni employees including superannuation, leave, leasing compensation and salary packaging
  • Prepare Monthly pay run, including Timesheets, contract changes
  • Preparation of Payroll Cost reporting to the General Manager of Finance
  • Preparation of Superannuation contributions reporting for the General Manager of Finance and the Omni Superannuation provider, including reconciliation between the MLC system and MicrOpay
  • Salary Reporting for the Executive, and Government reporting processes
  • Support Omni employees in the use of My Omni and accessing payslips
  • Provide administrative support surrounding HR and Finance as required
  • Assist with End of Financial Year Reporting to ATO and the Omni Executive Accountant
  • Preparation of Workers Compensation Estimates and Actuals for General Manager of Finance

Desirable Qualifications/Education/Training

  • Ability to obtain, gain and maintain a Negative Vetting Security Clearance
  • Ability to gain a knowledge of SAGE People and SAGE MicrOpay or experience with the systems
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, including timesheet employees, superannuation, car leasing arrangements
  • Experience using MircOpay or similar payroll system
  • High ability to utilise Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to ensure the timeliness and correct processing of payroll and financial recording
